New Year’s Resolutions. We all make them, and we all break them. But this year you should at least keep your resolution to turn back the clock on your sagging skin. We can do just that with fractional sub-ablative treatments at Creative Image Laser Solutions.
These treatments are the latest in ablative laser technology and involve the introduction of sub-ablative technology utilizing radiofrequency energy to selectively ablate tissue, triggering various skin healing mechanisms with only minimal harm to the epidermis.
How do these fractional sub-ablative treatments work?
Fractional sub-ablative treatments use both a 915nm diode matrix array in conjunction with radiofrequency energy to create strong thermal bands that penetrate deeply into the dermis (the skin’s layer beneath the epidermis) while only creating minimal impact on the epidermis. This allows the dermal layer of the skin to be ablated while preserving the surface skin, and this means there is minimal or no downtime with fractional sub-ablative treatments.
In this case “fractional” means that only 5-10% of the skin is ablated at one time. To do this CO2 gas light energy is made fractional by breaking a single pulse into hundreds of small arrays of heat energy.
What does this do for the skin?
Fractional sub-ablative treatments have two levels of benefits for your skin. First, the heat conducted to the collagen fibers of the skin causes collagen contraction (tightening) as well as collagen remodeling (new collagen production). Second, the overall heating of the skin layers causes new collagen synthesis for a full year and beyond.
We have available variability in our settings that allows for the evisceration of certain skin problems such as vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, and scars. These all show improvement after the re-epithilialisation of the skin, which generally takes up to 30 days after your treatment.
Beyond the above benefits, our fractional sub-ablative treatments also tighten the skin and reduce lines and wrinkles. This is due to the thickened bands of collagen whose creation is triggered by the treatments.
