As Americans have become heavier, liposuction has grown more and more popular as a way to get rid of unwanted pockets of fat that don’t respond to dietary changes and exercise. But traditional liposuction has been a relatively aggressive procedure, with the cannula being moved throughout the target area relatively violently to break up the fat that is then suctioned out. This has led to some pretty extreme bruising and tissue trauma.
But now, thanks to Aqua Lipo at Creative Image Laser Solutions, you can have much less traumatic liposuction with the same great results.
And no, Aqua Lipo is not a superhero, although your end results may make you think it is!
What is Aqua Lipo?
Aqua Lipo uses a water jet that delivers a pulsating spray of sterile fluid to break up and flush out fat pockets. Like any liposuction, the fat is then suctioned out by the cannula. The water jet in Aqua Lipo allows fat to be removed from the body without the aggressive force used in older liposuction techniques. This limits the trauma to surrounding skin, muscles, blood vessels, and nerves, making recovery much easier. Older methods also result in a fair amount of bleeding and often a lumpy final result.
What areas can be addressed with Aqua Lipo?
Any area that can be treated with typical liposuction can be addressed with Aqua Lipo, albeit with far less trauma. This includes the abdomen, hips, thighs, knees, arms, and beneath the chin.
Is it local or general anesthesia?
Older liposuction techniques required general anesthesia due to their aggressive nature. Aqua Lipo is typically performed at Creative Image with the patient under only local anesthesia. Most patients return to work and normal activities in just a few days.
